IN THE FOREST Almost as much depth as in trees can be found in the local forest. But even without the verses of Thoreau, Brentano, Mörike, Heine, Eichendorff or Schlegel in mind, the forest is a place where we pause, marvel and breathe deeply. With springy steps, we walk along narrow paths and over roots, the scent of resin, pine needles and damp earth in our noses. In mossy clearings, one can imagine elves dancing here in the moonlight. 6,000 different animals have their habitat here; one can hear them grunting, rustling and calling ‘hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo’. Sometimes, however, it is completely quiet, with no one to be seen far and wide, not even the wind rustling in the branches. Your breathing calms down, ideas take shape, and if you linger long enough, your feet might take root. |
