Eat Plant Love

TAKE THE STAGE

April is something of a weather pantomime. One day it dances in with a radiant smile, offering us a bowl of spaghetti ice cream; the next, it slips into the role of a misanthrope, shaking the color from the trees with a downturned mouth. Yet on the stage of summer, May is already waiting in the wings. With generous gestures, it begins to distribute sunshine, warmth, and a sense of dolce vita. Its appearance, we promise, will not be long in coming. Until then, we wish you a weekend that leaves you, in the best sense, speechless.

A LIGHT COMEDY
In this most delightful of months, we once again raise the curtain on our traditional “Walk in the Park” — a celebration around Mother’s Day where we share joy and food, gardens and porcelain history with you.
From May 8 to 10, you are warmly invited to visit us at the manufactory with your loved ones. In the shaping workshop, you can watch our artisans at work, relax among parrots and sculptures on the Center Court Chairs by Studio Faubel, and listen to the gentle sound of the palace brook.
As May is a month for all the senses, we will be serving not only our house-made lavender punch, but also a variety of drinks, ice cream, and, as a culinary highlight, a curry by Michelin-starred chef Bobby Bräuer. Children can explore the fairytale-like surroundings of the manufactory on a treasure hunt—perhaps discovering a budding botanist among them.
And if, during your stroll, you happen to fall for a vase (or if Mother’s Day has somehow slipped your mind), you can create a matching bouquet at our flower bar.
We look forward to welcoming you. You can register directly here.

REMINISCENCES
The favorite flowers of Elizabeth II were lily of the valley, which appeared both in her wedding bouquet and her coronation arrangement as symbols of new beginnings, happiness, and purity. She also held sweet peas, dahlias, and yellow roses in high regard—a monarch and passionate gardener who would have turned one hundred this coming Tuesday.
The Cumberland service, originally designed as a 700-piece wedding gift for Ernst August III of Hanover, a distant cousin of Elizabeth’s, delights not only those with green thumbs. Countless flowers, painted entirely freehand, adorn what is considered the most elaborate floral décor in the world. No bloom resembles another. Discovering this floral richness may not turn one into royalty, but certainly into a horticultural enthusiast.
During teatime in Elizabeth’s honor on April 21, take a moment to observe poppies, tulips, asters, and the occasional butterfly or beetle on your Cumberland piece. With a little luck, April may even be in a good mood, allowing you to enjoy it all in the garden.

Weißer facettierter Nymphenburger Porzellanbecher mit brauner Ledermanchette im MCM-Visetos-Monogrammdesign

PREMIERE
Curtain up for a guest performance. The piece is titled “The MCM Diamond Cup”—a collaboration between two Munich institutions.
To mark the 50th anniversary of MCM, Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg has designed an exclusive cup together with the former pop culture fashion icon. Inspired by MCM’s characteristic diamond motif and, of course, crafted entirely by hand, the drinking vessel becomes a collector’s object that reflects the history of this flamboyant house.
Its costume: a leather sleeve in MCM’s signature look, featuring the Visetos monogram. Craftsmanship, heritage, and a touch of celebration come together in this striking piece.
The limited edition is available exclusively through MCM. Should the entire ensemble appeal to you, the remaining protagonists can, as always, be admired with us.
